Write about practice? Don't mind if I do!
Derby today was sweeeeeet. Only five of us fresh meat girls showed up, so we got a lot of individual tips and had a stupid amount of fun trying new things. We wove through each other in a pace line, gave each other hip whips and skated in a pack. It was really awesome - I love learning the stuff that directly translates to actually playing. I can't believe I'm doing this.
I’ve wanted to play roller derby for a few years, but it was always a pipe-dream type of thing until the league started up here. I found out about it, and started running and trying to train myself for the day that they would call for Fresh Meat.
